Eight-DOF Dynamic Modeling of EMA Mechanical Transmission and Spalling Fault Characteristic Analysis

Electromechanical actuators (EMAs), as the critical actuator system of next-generation aircraft, have attracted attention many institutions and enterprises around world. However, due to harsh working conditions, their reliability cannot satisfy requirements widespread application in aircraft. Therefore, order conduct fault diagnosis on EMAs, this paper, we establish a comprehensive dynamic model under numerous assumptions study characteristics that may occur displacement acceleration responses EMA systems. First, an eight-DOF containing typical mechanical components is established. Then, by obtaining impact forces between balls spalling nonlinear relationship total elastic restoring change ball deformation when occurs, faulty Comparison simulation results normal reveals amplitude at third harmonic passage frequency increases occurs.
